Yes. As the wind starts to howl outside from Hurricane Sandy, which so far has been a big yawn, I am typing this entry on an app from the Microsoft store for Windows. Over all the update has been smooth. The only issues so far that are not corrected is the driver for my network backup drive is not working and the video card now isn’t good enough for one of my online apps. So I am searching for new drivers or solutions to those issues. Other than that everything is working pretty well.
So far the one MAJOR item I am missing from Windows 7 is the snippet tool. I had to use my cell phone to snap the start picture whereas I could have used the Snippet tool and just captured the screen that way. So I will need to search for a program that will do that for me I guess. LOL!
The traditional desktop is still on windows, minus the infamous start button. I’ve figured the work around without it and so far I’m moving right along. The Skype app is good for chats, but it doesn’t have all the features of the actual program, such as sharing your desktop, etc. Most people don’t need that and probably won’t have an issue with it. You can still install the regular Skype software and work just fine.
Hopefully, we won’t lose power. It looks like I will be going to work tomorrow :( so I won’t have a lot of time Monday to play with the interface here. Besides, we could lose power overnight so that would mean no using the computer anyway :)
